“Faith’s Power”, Mark 11:22-26. Today’s passage is one of the most hijacked stories by the word of faith movement. They have twisted it to manipulate and profit from hurting people seeking relief, answers, and healing. Our prayers must begin with a relationship with God, the author of Faith. He is the one who can not be manipulated.
“I Believe, Help Thou My Unbelief”, Mark 9:14-29. Many people throw the expression “I Believe” around when talking about Jesus and/or religion. Belief in Christ has some very specific attributes. It yields not only a TRUE confession, it will bear his fruit with the boldness to not be ashamed. Today’s Scripture will have a mix of all of the above!
“Counting the Cost of Discipleship”, Luke 9:57-62. This morning we see that effective Evangelism begins with committed Discipleship. There is a cost to following Christ. We must deny our wishes for his plans. As the old song says, “I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back; no turning back”.
